Dylan's new Art Blog

Hey guys, Dylan has his own blog now for displaying and selling his art! We are really excited to share it with you! He will be adding new things each day until we get caught up, but we got a really great start. So, please check it out! He would love some positive feedback. The art that has been posted ranges in age of when it was drawn, from 7-9 years old. If you look down under the picture, it will say when on the label. You can view his blog here:

Back to School Day...

Well, you wouldn't know it by our 65th day of 100 degree + temperatures, but its back to school day. I am a little late on the post, everyone went back August 24th. They were all very excited. So its back to PB and J sandwiches and hours of homework, but I am glad glad glad...Addison got glasses and is completely stoked, which is good, because they made me look like ugly Betty. It is strange how genetics work out...Steve has perfect eyes and all our kids ended up with my vision. Poor dumb things. At least there is lasik. What an answered prayer that was.

Dylan Reflections Entry

Dylan wanted to enter into the Reflections contest this year. He worked sooooo hard doing these Ben 10 drawings. We got them all on the poster and went to turn it in for the Nationwide Reflections contest. I recieved a phone call yesterday telling me that we can not submit cartoon characters because they are copyrighted. Talk about the tears! I have never seen a poor boy hypervenelate so bad. Poor thing. So he stayed up all last night doing a "jungle safari" themed poster. We turned that in this morning. Hopefully the kids wins something for all his hard work.

Back to School

Long time, no blog!~ Things have been crazy around here with school starting, hurricane evacs (just barely leaving today!), and Steve's brothers trial. My brain is in spin mode. I thought I would finally post the pics of the first day of school. Addison is finally in Kindergarten and is so excited! She was very independent the first day and didn't really want me taking pictures. What is that? I snuck a few in though...
Back to School Night: Addison found her friend from next door (Vivian) Yay!

On the way to schoolMr Dylan
He so has this under control.
Okay, so by the time we got Addison to class and Dylan, Michaela was late and the class was starting, so she got jipped on picture taking. But the great news is, if you look really close, her "look alike", Anna is in her class again. They are great friends.

Build a Bear (or child)

Yesterday we went to San Antonio to take Steve's dad to dinner for his birthday. Michaela has been there since Saturday and has fun shopping with Grandma, totally getting spoiled. She took her to build a bear and found this cute wig that reminded them of Addison's hair. They bought it for Addison's bear, but apparently it is multifunctional. Who would have thought. And the scary thing is that is looks pretty natural on my kids cuz of their coloring. Doesn't Dylan look cute a s a girl? We really need to get that boy in some sports, and quick!

Ought Oh!

I think that the girls may be wearing off on Dylan. Time for some playdates with some kids of his same sex, cuz dang. Should I be worried?

Okay, after a costume change, things are looking better. This makes more sense, right?

Zoo Fun

Well, the week of Spring Break is coming to a close. Thank goodness! Steve and I took the kiddos to the San Antonio Zoo on Thursday. Watch the video, it was much fun. All Dylan could obsess about was seeing the Rhinno's. That kid was driving me nuts about it! He asked about them every 5 seconds. I am not sure why he was so interested in them, but that was the highlight for him.

Love that School Lunch

Yesterday we went to eat with Michaela and Dylan at school. They have been asking for 3 weeks, since my mom arrived. I could no longer put it off. Don't get me wrong, I love having lunch with my kiddos, just not everyone elses! What is wrong with me.? There is something about 200 kids packed into a cafeteria. The smell, the noise, the insanity! It's like serving me a platter of anxiety.
It was fun none the less. Michaela didn't want her picture taken, but Dylan happily obliged. How does one eat an apple with no teeth?

Dylans Best Buddy at school. Why? Because boys just get into trouble and "Yema" never has to move her clip. It's a school thing. Anyways, I always knew he would be a ladies man. He is just like his Daddy...

The Donkey's

Yesterday we dropped Michaela off at a friends birthday party off FM1826. They lived on a farm and had a bunch of donkey's. So dang cute. Addison was feeding them all kinds of crap off the ground and they were eating it! I think that they just wanted to hear her little giggle everytime they put something more and more outrageous in their mouths. It was the funniest thing.

Dylan has not stopped talking about getting a donkey with his allowance since yesterday. The kid is driving me nuts. He doesn't understand why we can't just move to a farm and have animals. I tried to explain to him that I can't afford to decorate all their stables the right way and I would just be frustrated. I don't know why he can't get that.

FYI, the owners said that the donkey's love carrots, so you should stop with your kids and feed them some time. They were really cute and what a fun "free" activity.

Sleep Walker

Oh boy, where do I begin? So Thursday night, it is 12:30 am and Steve and I happened to be in bed talking about the day. All the sudden I hear Dylan say, "Could use a littl' help up here!" I go upstairs and he is on the toilet, dazed and confused. I began talking to him and it was clear that he was still sleeping, he had the glazed look over his eyes. When I finally got him to come to, he told me that he pooped in his bedroom on the carpet. Hmm, I looked in there and saw a couple little drips, not so bad, I can clean that up. "No mom, on the other side of my bed!" So I walked around his bed to find a fresh pile of poo right on the carpet. Not a piece, or a dribble...I am talking - he took his pants off in his sleep and took a big soft dump on the carpet. Like a rhino had come through there after having 4 pounds of apples or something. Then in his dream, he decided to go watch TV. So he dribbled poo all the way to the gameroom.

It was disgusting! I am still not sure how to insure that the carpet is really sanitized. I think that I am going to have to get our carpets cleaned. I dry heaved the whole entire time. Oh my gosh...I asked him what happened and he said that he had to poop so bad that he was dreaming that he was on the toilet. I would have taken a picture of this, but it was to gross to post. He will not EVER live this down.

The Tooth Fairy is FIRED!

Dylan lost his tooth at school the other day. He came home so excited for the tooth fairy to come. He was so responsible, holding on to the ziploc bag the teacher had given him at school to put his tooth in. But, when it came to bedtime, the tooth was M.I.A! We couldn't find it anywhere! He was so upset. We told him that we would find it and do it the next day.

So day 2 comes and we found the tooth. He put it under his pillow right before bed. But since, he had lost it the day before, the drama had died down and the tooth fairy forgot to come! What a loser...

We assured him that she must have just forgotten because she came the first night looking for it and was confused. Night 3, he puts it under his pillow again. I don't even remember what happened, but the night was crazy. Tooth fairy seriously needs to be squashed because that no good fairy forgot to come again...

Night 4 - Tooth fairy finally remembered to come, leaving a note (in fairy handwriting), whatever that is, apologizing for the delay. There are a lot of kids losing teeth these days! Afterall, she is not Santa Claus. Geez...

Dylan's Day at the Main Event

Dylan took his little buddy Jackson to the Main Event yesterday for his Birthday. They had a good time. We bowled and played games for a couple hours. We did the 3-D motion ride, which totally made me sick! Dylan's only concern before the ride started was if it was going to make his bum tingle.?!? I think that it did...

Give Dylan a SHOUT out...

So the big "D" turns 7 tomorrow! I can't believe it. The time has flown so fast. And even though Michaela and Dylan were a painful 15 months apart, the pain must have subsided; because we all thought Dylan was turning 6! I mean, I really knew he was going to be 7, but it took me a minute to remember. My side of the family thought it was the 6th b-day and so did Steve, Shh!

Anyways, he took his 2 dozen Krispy Kremes to school today to share with his class. He is such a good boy. I thought I would list 7 of my favorite things about Dylan.

1. He is articulate and very smart. He memorizes really useless information!
2. He has one of the best smiles I have ever seen.
3. He isn't a "wild" little boy, he is pretty mello.
4. He is very very responsible, always keeping me informed of important dates and times.
5. He still loves to cuddle with his mom and will get me a diet coke whenever I am in need.
6. He says very sweet prayers, always asking for us to have fun (repeating that part about 3 times.)
7. He is a great artist for his age! Holy Cow, I need to start a blog just for that...

Love ya Buddy!

Halloween

Dylan ended up getting a cold and a pretty bad cough. He was so stressed out on Tuesday when he called me from school with a fever; he thought he was going to miss Halloween. I assured him that even if he was a bit sick we would take him trick or treating. He made it through and is still home from school today. Poor guy!

Addison picked out this dress at Walmart and wanted to be a bride. But she ditched the veil for wings and decided getting married wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

Oh, my little Michaela...I wanted the big bad wolf to come and eat her up last night. She is a pill! That girl has a serious attitude on her and we basically were at each others throats all night. But she sure looks sweet! "Now go visit your stinkin' Grandmother! Isn't that what Little Red Riding Hood is supposed to do?"

Okay, Kristi wins "wig of the night". That was downright the nappiest wig I have ever seen. Love the Target name badge she found in a parking lot. You can only appreciate the impact of this wig if you knew how pretty Kristi and her hair normally are. Check her out! http://wrightsaretough.blogspot.com/

Need I say more? This is Lance Hacking under this sweet suit. Even more, it was really made for short men, so he wore this suit like capris. Perfectly sweet, really!

Me and "Boobalishih". As Stephanie would say, "Good Honk!" Love the pirate suit Jodi. It really was cute.

Oh, and speaking of Stephanie, here she is as the Snow White Beauty. If Lance looses his job, she could really go to Disney world and be the Snow White there, don't you think? I heard it is very lucrative.

So FYI, when you get your costume on sale at Target (last minute), you are most likely not going to win the award for most original! But notice who is wearing the crown! We know who the real queen is here!

"You're the one that I want!" I guess Steve, or Danny, lost his shade because this guy is wearing rhinestone sunglasses from Old Navy. That is the perfect accessory!
