Addison's European Shoe Fettish

Okay, so Addison has been dying to get a pair of these Lelli Kellie shoes. They are made in Europe and boutiques and Nordstroms carrys them with a pricetag of $64-120. They are adorable, but DANG. And how long do you think they are seriously going to look like this? Anyways, as we were registering for Kindergarten last week, she saw a fellow kindergartner in line that had some on. Now she is sure she needs them to start school.

We have decided to have a garage sale and sell all of her toys so she can save up. If you think I am kidding, I am not. She is going to sell her stuff, or so she thinks. Has anyone else been hearing about these shoes? Am I totally in the dark here, because I buy $20 target shoes, and occassionally pick up some namebranders at Ross. I just don't think it is right to spend this kind of money on kid shoes. Maybe I will score a deal on Ebay or something.

Hawaii 2008

I have been working on our Hawaiian video and realized after 600 pictures, that you people probably don't want to see a 30 minute family slide show anyways. So I have highlighted some of our favorite moments on the island in 3 videos below.

Everyone has pretty much heard the low down on what happened on our trip, but I thought I would bring all our friends and family up to speed. We had some glitches, but we are safely home and had a great time in the end.

We recieved this timeshare for April 18-26 in Maui and have been so excited to go on our first family vacate to Hawaii land. We have been planning on this trip for months. Packing, Shopping, Tanning, you name it we were ready.

Steph took us to the airport on Friday, April 18th with our 9 pieces of luggage and 3 very excited kids. As we show up to the counter to check in. The US Air lady thumbs through our ticket and says, "US Air can get you to Phoenix, but your connecting flight to Maui isn't going to happen. The airline (ATA) has gone out of business." Holy Crap, talk about total melt down!

The sad thing is, is that we knew ATA had gone out of business and I had checked our tickets weeks before. But they had US Airways stamped all over them, so I thought we were good. Being the world traveler that I am not, I didn't think to read the fine print and find our connecting flight. Hello?

The kids fell apart. We didn't think that we were going to be able to go at all! Plus we would be out the $3,000 it cost us in tickets. I wanted to cry, but there was enough of that going on. Steve had some very unpleasant phone calls while waiting for our ride to return with absolutely no assistance at all. So I went up to the US Air desk and begged for help. They finally did get us on their flight, but it didn't leave until Sunday, plus we had to stay for 10 days instead of 7. So much for the inexpensive timeshare, huh? So we didn't even get back into town until the beginning of May.

This is a picture of our "Dry Run", the first day at the airport. Of course we came back the following Sunday, and didn't take a new ALOHA picture. Great news is, although we are in a bit of debt now due to a long vacation, I know Maui like the back of my hand and would love to be a tour guide for any of my close friends, which I think I have 1.
