Michaelas 10th Birthday Party

Michaela and her buddies - Ava and Sara (lunchtime at school)

She is like my premature twin, right?

The teacher that every 5th grade girl "swoons" over. Oh yeah, he's hot!
My cupcake creations. Popcorn and spaghetti. What more can you ask for, right?

Yes, they are cupcakes...it just looks wrong!

I know I am lagging on my posts. Mainly, because I don't have a lot of people who really care; and I know that I will eventually get to it. So her it goes... August 29th was Michaela's big 10th Birthday. Double digits man. Braces, bras, you know the scoop. I can't believe it is happening. It really puts in perspective that Steve and I are no longer teenagers that get to make out in the back of his car. Well, I guess we could, but I have a ton of crap to do and not a lot of time for that.
Anyways...Our sweet Michaela. She is such a good girl with such a good spirit, and old spirit at that. She is way beyond her years. I love her much. I love to hang out with her as a friend too. She is very witty and compassionate. What a good one to get on your first go, you know? I mean she was a good baby too! Had I had, perhaps, Dylan first - I am not sure that I would have kept going. At least not without fervent prayer, cuz dang. That kids didn't know what a nap was or how to swallow food and keep it down. Not to mention the big ol' spot on his poor little noggin that he had when he was born. Took 5 rather painful surgeries for that poor boy to get rid of that.
Back to Michaela - sweet Michaela. We love you much and hope you had a great birthday celebration. We went swimming and came back to watch movies on the projector and have some treats and pedis. Good times.

She got 10 gifts from her dad and I. She had to unwrap them in the order of years 1-10 according to the picture. Then we told a favorite memory of her at each age. It was fun.

Late Birthday Post

I had such a great birthday with my little family and as I was going through my pictures today, I realized that I never posted it. Shame shame. Our friends were out of town over the 4th of July holiday, so no one was here to do anything with. It was just us. We had a great day. We went to see a movie, went to the pool, and we ate at Cheesecake Factory for the very first time.

It was a great day. Thanks Steve and Kiddos for making it a special 32! Jeez, we are getting old.

Happy 32!

Happy Birthday to the best man and dad I know, and I know a few! Seriously...The kids and I set out this morning to find their dad the perfect gifts. They were really excited about it and took a lot of time and thought into buying him things that he would love. Dylan spent his own money to buy him a Wii game, that Dylan has also been enjoying since 7 pm last night when Steve unwrapped it. Very cute.

Happy Thirty-Two! 32 things that I love about you:

1. Your nature to live life and learn new things. Then once you decide to learn it, you could major in it. Like cooking or physical fitness.

2. You are a man of habit. You wake up each day at the same time (before the dawn cracks), even if you went to bed at 2 am. And don't forget to brush those pearly whites. It doesn't matter if he has already fallen asleep. If he forgets, he will roll and of bed and go do it. My Steve is a machine.

3. Proud Metro Sexual who would never deny a free mani or massage and is the creator of the "sparkle kit" at work which consists of razors, deodorant, body spray, and so forth for those who do not property groom before they come to the office.

4. No matter how tired he is, always has energy for his kids. When mom is tuckered, after prayer, I will send them off to bed to fend for themselves. Not my Steve, he goes up there with them every night to tuck them in.

5. Loves vacations, especially Disney world. Doesn't care about most material things, but wouldn't want to give up a chance of having a good time with the ones he loves.

6. Works out 6 days a week, even on vacation. You should see his abs. Holy Crap.

7. Meets people and actually remembers their name. I mean everyone! It is crazy, not sure how he does that.

8. He gets the student discount at the movie theatres, which totally rocks. I guess he still looks as young as a student...but actually he is getting grey hairs and crows feet which I find totally hot.

9. Is like the most detail oriented person I know. He can not go anywhere without criticising how a business is ran and what he would do to fix it. He was a like born into management.

10. When I just want a good fight and push every button I can to achieve one, he will sense what I am doing and not let me do it. Which at the time, really annoys me, but I realize it is all for the better when we don't fight.

11. If he doesn't understand something about me, he will do what he needs to do to understand. Even if it requires him reading the Twilight series. He wanted to know what was so fascinating about this Edward dude.

12. Alway tells me how pretty I am, even when I am not lookin my best.

13. Lets me paint and repaint our house as I find it necessary without putting up too much of a fight. To me, painting and repainting, is no different than "rinse and repeat".

14. Is very logical and can think through life situations to make them make sense.

15. Loves to serve and doesn't complain when doing so.

16. He has flowers planted in front of old ladies apartments to ensure that they enjoy their apartment home, since this is the place where they could expire. Very sweet.

17. Only buys top of the line hair products and shoes.

18. Is a saver, not a spender; unless it comes to hair products, shoes, cars, and vacation...

19. Still has NIN downloaded on him Ipod, which when a song comes on, he skips it, but he wouldn't want to disrespect Trent Reznor by not having him on there at all.

20. Has many career goals, including buying property in Maui and opening up like 9 franchises. I said they were goals, not reality.

21. Repeats things vebatum from movies all the time. Which makes me giggle in any situation.

22. Supports me working, but would be happy to downsize and simplifiy for me to stay home, which he finds equally if not MORE important than me making the green stuff.

23. Never complains that, lets face it, I may not be as physically fit as he.

24. If someone is having a grumpy day, say the worker in the toll booth, he will smile and talk to them until they are smiling. It is uncomforably fun to watch their reaction as the whole thing goes down, like why is this guy talking to me about how nice the weather is and my great hair? Then before they know it they are sucked into his master plan of smiling on the job, like they are supposed to be doing.

25. Always stands for what is morally right, no matter how the world sees it "idealism", and he has no shame in doing so. He is proud and firm in his beliefs and values.

26. He lets me pick at any flaw that I might find on his face, even though he knows that I just make it worse, but he also knows how much I enjoy it. Then when he doesn't have a flaw, he has the back up of whats called a pre-erricular sinus by his ear which can always be drained of something. Yeah, you may not find this sexy, but when I saw this thing, I knew he was my eternal partner.

27. Is the creator of "Pancake Saturdays" and Saturday bike rides. Yes, Addison has been cracking eggs to make those pancakes on Saturday since she was like 2. That girl can even do it one-handed.

28. Has a perfect smile with the cutest dimples ever!

29. Is only slightly annoyed that I am spending his day off blogging. (he doesn't know what about yet...he will forgive me.)

30. When he sees old couples together, he always gets a little touched and unknowingly squeezes my hand, like "that will be us honey". He is very sentimental.

31. Has spent almost 1/2 his life with me, which is he should be given a medal for. Crazy when you think of it. He is my best friend and I wouldn't want to be here without him.

32. The fact that on his 100th birthday, I will be able to still think of 100 new reasons why I love this man. For those who know him well, I know they so get it. Happy Birthday honey.

Happy Birthday To ME!

Need I say more?

Happy Birthday!

What a big year for the woman in my family. My Grandma turned the big 70 last Wednesday, and my mom turns 50 tomorrow! Don't they look great? I can only hope to look this good.

Happy Day to ya! My Grandparents are very "old school" when it comes to birthday's and don't celebrate much. Infact it is very reasonable to assume that on your birthday, you may or may not get a card from them, and if you do, it might be a card that says "Happy Birthday Grandson" - with "Grandson" crossed out and "Granddaughter" written in it's place. On her big day we called and she was out shopping - by herself! She came home later that night and I asked if they were going to dinner or what? "No, just staying home!" I figured that I will have to make up for that when she and my Grandpa come in February...

No cake for my mom either! I am going to make sure that she has a really special day on Monday, she is under my control afterall. Don't know exactly what where are going yet, but I can tell you this, Steph and I are taking her to see 27 dresses. She has not been to a movie in over 6 years. Are you kidding me? Happy Birthday Mom.

Addison's 5 Years Old!

So today was Addison's 5th Birthday party. She wanted a Hannah Montana party, so Hannah Montana it was, even though none of her peer's knew who the heck Hannah Montana was. I guess this is what you get when you have an older sister.

Diantha, McKenna, Maya, Chloe, Vivian, & Katie came to celebrate with Addison today. They sat around our table eating pizza and jello like they were in England at a tea party. Everyone was so quiet and polite!
Then we played "stick the lips on Hannah". Everyone got pretty close, but most of the girls wouldn't let me blind fold them - they didn't want to mess of their hair or something!?!

After Addison opened her gifts and we had icecream, the girls ran upstairs to play in Addison's room. They loved her new bed and all played dress up for the last hour that they were here.
After about 10 minutes of having all the girls in her room, she came to the stairs and said, "It's 2:00 and time for my friends to go home." I had to inform her that it was only 1:00 and we had a whole other hour left. I guess she is not used to 6 girls going through her stuff and invading her space.

They were all very cute and innocent, which wont last for long. It was fun to have this little age group over and enjoy them.

Dylan's Day at the Main Event

Dylan took his little buddy Jackson to the Main Event yesterday for his Birthday. They had a good time. We bowled and played games for a couple hours. We did the 3-D motion ride, which totally made me sick! Dylan's only concern before the ride started was if it was going to make his bum tingle.?!? I think that it did...

Give Dylan a SHOUT out...

So the big "D" turns 7 tomorrow! I can't believe it. The time has flown so fast. And even though Michaela and Dylan were a painful 15 months apart, the pain must have subsided; because we all thought Dylan was turning 6! I mean, I really knew he was going to be 7, but it took me a minute to remember. My side of the family thought it was the 6th b-day and so did Steve, Shh!

Anyways, he took his 2 dozen Krispy Kremes to school today to share with his class. He is such a good boy. I thought I would list 7 of my favorite things about Dylan.

1. He is articulate and very smart. He memorizes really useless information!
2. He has one of the best smiles I have ever seen.
3. He isn't a "wild" little boy, he is pretty mello.
4. He is very very responsible, always keeping me informed of important dates and times.
5. He still loves to cuddle with his mom and will get me a diet coke whenever I am in need.
6. He says very sweet prayers, always asking for us to have fun (repeating that part about 3 times.)
7. He is a great artist for his age! Holy Cow, I need to start a blog just for that...

Love ya Buddy!

Elementary Musical

Michaela's Birthday Party was tonight. She had originally thought that she wanted to take her friends to Oasis Day Spa for manicures/pedicures. She could only invite 6 friends though. So she opted to invite ALL her friends and do mani's/pedi's at home. I think after this experience I will foot the bill for Oasis! This was beyond crazy. We started out okay. While the girls waited for the pizza to come, they started High School Musical and they were all singing along. There was even some harmonizing going on. Check out the video.

Michaela didn't think that we could accomplish dinner/pedi's and mani's, HS Musical, HS Musical game, gifts, and desert in the 3 1/2 hours that we alloted for the party. So she told everyone at school to go ahead and come an hour early! Although it was a nice thought, I don't have enough valum in the house to get me through that. I was a little upset at her, and she broke down feeling terrible that she changed the plans that I had originally made. So I had to eat crow and remind her of the time when I was 6 and invited friends to my birthday party after school and it wasn't even my birthday. The apple certainly doesn't fall far from the tree. She giggled and felt better after all.

After dinner, the claws came out. These girls hormones were all over the place. A couple small cat fights broke out, but we eventually recovered. One girl actually called her grandma early to come pick her up. Frankly, she just wasn't being very nice and Michaela took it very personally. All of Michaela's church friends came around the table to comfort her and tell her it was the greatest party that they have ever been to and not to worry about it. She cheered up shortly there after. We know who her real friends are!
