I have a Sickness!

So yesterday, the lady from Israel came by again. They are art students that come from Israel and stay for a few months to sell their paintings. You get these amazing oil paintings for around $75 a piece. I had purchased one from them before, but yesterday, I didn't have any cash. But I let her in to see what she has, because I love these paintings!
I bought 3~and had them framed. I am weak, I know. She framed them right at my house. Stretched the canvas and everythings. She had these amazing frames that would cost you a fortune somewhere else. I am so excited! I am not so sure Steve shared my excitement, but he is learning...

John Lennon Music at its Best!~

Steve and I spent an hour tonight trying to figure out what movie preview we had heard this awesome soundtrack on. This is the one. Looks like a crazyfied movie, but the soundtrack is something to write home about. Love, love, love it! There are a lot of John Lennon Songs remixed. Like Hey Jude, I wanna Hold Your Hand, Something, &
All I Need is Love. I feel the peace signs coming right out of the speakers! Listen to some samples:

Scotts Final

So, as many know, Scott (Steve's brother) is in Florida going to Full Sail for some artistic computer animation program. We have been excited to see what he learns while he is there. People go on to work for Pixar and other things alike when they graduate. So he had his final on shading and lighting. This was his design. He said that he created everything including lighting, texturing, shading, photoshop manipulation (for textures), layered shaders, bump maps, etc.

Hats off - pretty cool. (Sorry we didn't call you back last night, Addison started throwing up)

Game Boy Gas

So Dylan left his Game Boy at the neighbors house a few weeks ago. Since then, with school and all, he has completely forgotten about - til today. So he went over there and asked if he could look for it. They couldn't find it, but said they would keep looking.
He came home and clogged the toilet and told me that he had something VERY important to tell me. First he told me that he had diarrhea and that he used so much toilet paper that no matter how many times he flushed, it wouldn't go down. Michaela chimed in and said - mom can fix it Dylan stop freaking out.
Then he continued, by letting me know that the whole way over to the neighbors house, he had gas and couldn't keep it from coming out. He said, "my body was in charge, I couldn't stop it!" Exact words, for real. Then when he got there he let out a little more and was very embarrassed. He assured me that he wasn't trying to be rude, but that it was like there was a little man in his body making noises. Then to make sure that I really understood the extent of his gas he said, "It was like I had gas up to my eyeballs. Very uncomfortable!"
Funny way to express that...

Must Have

I have had my eye on this bed since we moved here in February. I didn't buy it right away, because I really felt like Addison would probably grow out of it quick. But recently I was back at this website looking at beds for a client and saw it again. I have decided to get it. I would sleep in it if I could. Maybe I will!

So, as long as jobs keep rollin' in, little Addison is getting this for her birthday. Don't you think every little girl needs one?

Purse Party!!

Okay, so it's party time again! October 18th at 7:30 I will be hosting a designer purse party at my house. I am seriously excited. Bring cash, cuz that's all she takes. I will send out an evite for this when we get a little closer, but if you love designer handbags, note your calendar now. There will be all kinds of purses available, sunglasses, and wallets. Plus yummy appetizers and drinks.
I CAN'T WAIT!

Life on NBC

Okay, so it's premiere week and I have to admit that I have been spending more time infront of the TV trying to decide what my shows will be this year. I ran into this by mistake ~ but loved it. You can watch it online if you missed it.

I don't watch House, but I think that this has that general feel. This guy is extremely strange, so I can really relate to him. Perfect A++ in my book.

Set an hour aside and see if this is for you!

What a good Dad

So at the end of the day I am so tired and burnt out. But Steve comes home from work, after being up and going for 12 hours, and still takes the time to do things with our kids. I am not sure where he finds the patience, but I am so glad that our children get to benefit from it.

I was cooking dinner and heard the lawn mower start up. I thought it must be our neighbor, but I looked in the back and Steve was mowing the lawn. He let Dylan help him the whole time. And he did! They walked back and forth mowing strips of grass for about an hour. I love the men in my life.

The best part of all, is that my Steve is "man enough" to do it wearing pink!

Monday Weigh In - Week 7

Bad Bad, Naughty Naughty~

Between having friends in from Houston and my first "full-time" week back at work, I botched any type of dieting this week. I am so scared to even step on the scale. We went to the Melting Pot on Saturday night. Enough said? Watch the video and you will see the cheese that went straight from the fondue, right to my thighs.

Uh huh, so with that, I have decided to skip my weigh in and have a clean slate this week. I don't want to depress myself, so I figured it would be better mentally to start again (thinking I am where I was last time I weighed). I promise I will account next Monday! That Melting Pot was the devil.

Entrapreneur

So Michaela has taken on some skills that she has apparently learned from her Mother! I had a candle party last Tuesday night to sell some of my Home-made candles. Well Michaela thought she might be able to earn a little extra cash herself! So she took a candle to school, without my knowledge, and sold 8 of them! 7 of them were to her teacher, but one of them was to a classmate named Emma. She came home $12 richer on Friday, and when I asked her where she got the money, she let me know proudly that she had sold one of my candles to her friend. I later found out that it was a 4 ounce candle worth about $4, not $12! Talk about profit margin...

We will gladly send Emma another candle on Monday. Poor thing doesn't even realize how ripped off she got.

We're Best Buds

I guess these 2 are still so pure in spirit that they were the only ones that made it through the whole weekend without fighting. As I followed the kids into church today, I looked infront of me and saw Lily and Addison holding hands like loving sisters. It was so cute. After church Lily had to try and take some new medicine. Addison helped her by taking some "pretend" medicine with her so that she wouldn't be scared. Precious times!

Friendly Fun

So our friends from Houston came to visit this weekend and we thought we would spend some time at the pool - an attempt to tire the kids. I am not so sure that it worked. Maybe it is all the sugar that magically kept disappearing from the pantry.

We enjoyed a picnic of smooshed PB & J sandwiches, of course without removing the protective eyewear. We are all about safety!

"BFF" ~ Even if I do look a little nerdy...

Something to Write Home About

I am finally done with the theatre! 6 full days of work and I beat! My client didn't really encourage me through the whole process. He didn't say anything! I didn't know if he liked it or hated it, so I just kept working. I thought it was weird that he was spending all this money to have me come and faux finish his stuff and then didn't stay invoved through the process - well the plot thickens: Read on.

Today when I told my client that I was almost done, and to come check my work, he said "okay". What I didn't expect was for him to come in with a flood light and check every square inch of what I had painted. Talk about intimidating! Holy Crap. You would have thought he would have taken more interest throughout the process and not just when I was done and it was too late to fix. But he seemed to like it, although he didn't say as much, and told me he has a bunch of other work for me to do in a couple weeks. Love the money, not so sure about him! That was very strange.

Homework these Days

I was begging for school to start and now you know that I have the full authority to whine about it. Homework kills me. What these kids come home with. Today Dylan had to create a heritage quilt. His favorite food, holidays, country, and language needed to be included. Thought I would post it, it was a pain in my behind, but it did turn out cute. I am trying to imagine 20 of these put together. That is a cute idea.

Weigh In Monday - Week 6

Well, I definately took a new approach this week. It was called EATING! I pretty much ate anything I wanted, basically because I was in a hurry trying to take care of the family and get back to work this week. I didn't expect too much of a loss and I am ready to get back on the wagon this week. I am hoping that when I get back to it, that my body will go into shock like it did the first week and I will lose more than 2 pounds in the next 7 days. Time will tell.

Thanks again for the check-in. I ought to set aside my $40 in weight watchers money and distribute it to my friends after my 16 weeks is over. You guys are priceless!

Candle Party

So it is here! Time sped by. It seems like yesterday I was taking suggestions for our fall fragrances, and that fall was still so far away. But it is here now. I handed out invitations today at church and hope that all of you can make it.

Bring an appetizer or dessert and receive a free 4 oz. candle~ and if you're short on cash, still come! I don't expect you to buy, just come have fun with the girls, eat some great food, and smell some yummy scents.

I'm Hooked on the HOFF!

Pause the music and watch this video! I guess ANYONE with a little money left over from Baywatch can make a video! Infact he has made many. The scary thing is is that he is totally serious...what?

Is my blog hard to read?

So my friend Lorena was telling me that she can not see the text on my blog without highlighting it. I wanted to check with everyone to see if they are seeing what she is seeing. She sent me a picture. On my computer, there is a beige color on the inside which makes it possible to read the text on my blog. What is everyone else seeing? She said that she looked it up on a couple different computers. Let me know your feedback.

Weigh In Monday - Week 5

So Jan says that each 3 pounds that I lose is a whole can of Crisco. Is that nasty or what? So far I have lost 4 cans of crisco or a small turkey. I am really starting to notice in my clothes mostly, but I probably don't look all that different to those around me. I can gain 10 pounds and not notice all that much because I am so tall. So I am sure losing it is about the same. I am going to think a can of Crisco at a time instead of trying to take on all 50 pounds. That is way to overwhelming. Sorry that my results are not more exciting. I would love to blog that I had lost another 5, but it just isn't the case. I worry that it is just going to be an uphill battle from here. Lifetime needs to open soon! Thanks for checking in on me.

Back to WORK!

So I have had a long vacation. I haven't worked since the loft that Stephanie and I completed in May. Then I took the Summer off to be with the kiddos. I have been a little more than anxious trying to figure out where my next job would come from. I started advertising last week and got many calls, thank goodness! But this one, I was very excited about. I took this job up in the Rob Roy neighborhood. This guy has converted his basement to a movie theatre. He is still in the process - but it looks even more awesome in person.
I am going to be painting all the columns and trim work in faux leather and antiqued gold for the trim. I am also painting the little ticket booth he has had built in the front room. I start with samples today and will actually start on site Thursday. Yippie! I will update the pics when I am finished~

The columns will be painted in the leather, the all the small trim work and crown in a really cool multi-colored antiqued gold. The inside, between the columns will be carpeted for acoustic reason, plus it should look cool too.

He has already had a lot of painting done in here. He had some guy come in and paint the arcade and coke/popcorn machine. Plus I am sure that he did the border and the ceiling too. He did a great job. I would have like to have done it myself! Very cute.

Tennis Coach Dies

Most of you don't know this, but I used to be a big tennis player. My grandma had me in lessons at the age of 6, then I stopped shortly after high school. She called me today to let me know that one of my old coaches died. So, to pay tribute to him, I thought I would put him on my blog.

He had surgery on his shoulder from a tennis injury. During this time, the doctors put him on oxycodone for pain, and he became addicted. He recently committed suicide after a long battle with his addiction. It is a very sad story, and I know more than one person this has happened to. He looks way different in this picture from what I remember him. Of course he was only about 29 when he was my coach. He left behind 2 children and his fiance which is shown in the picture.

Pink Dolphin

My friend emailed me this picture. Apparently this dolphin has been spotted in Galveston near the ferry. Finally someone was able to sneak a picture of it. It looks like maybe it's an albino dolphin, ya think? Have you ever heard of such a thing? I have been watching a lot of ocean shows lately. There are all kinds of "wonders" in that water. Pretty amazing really. Whats really amazing is that there are some more than frightening things in that ocean, yet we still find it in ourselves to actually jump into it. I am starting to question the intelligence in that.
Reece Witherspoon, put that in your handbag!

Maddening Monday

So glad that I started working out this week-BLAH! This is the benefit that I must get. I guess I gained some muscle or something, because last wednesday, I was down another 3 pounds, then I gained 2 of them back. This is usually where I really start to get frustrated and I give up. But I am not giving in this time. I am still going to keep on chuggin' along.

It also could be the hamburger/artichoke dip that I demolished on Saturday. Or maybe even the 4 slices of veggie pizza I had Friday night in order to keep myself sane at Michaela's party. That was all I ate that day, but talk about emotional eating. I was a mess!
