Addison's Room

Remember this? This was Michaela's room when we moved into our Austin house. She has since outgrown this decor, but we thought that we would reuse it for Addison. I wanted to put a new spin on it so that she would feel like it was different and fresh just for her. She was not thrilled about getting hand me downs, so I had a task ahead of me to make the room not look the same as Michaela's did back in Austin. I think we made it work.

I tried to replicate her bolster pillow on the wall. I actually kind of rushed through it, completing the whole room in a day. When I went back, I realized that I missed a little purple stripe. I am not so sure that I will ever fix it. By the time I get to that, I will want to redecorate. Still turned out fun!

Addison's Emergency Trip

Well, we thought it was going to be a normal day at the doctors office. Saturday night, Addison was up all night long with the stomach flu. She threw up every hour on the hour. By Monday, she was feeling much better...until Monday night. She started up with her short winded coughs again. She told me right away that she was getting pneumonia. She has had it 5 times since January of 2008, so the girl knows when she is getting it.

Tuesday morning, I thought we will go in and get her on some antibiotics, get a few breathing treatments and maybe even stop for ice cream on the way home...no such luck. Because she had just gotten over stomach flu, it exacerbated the pneumonia leaving us with one sick girl on our hands. The doctor didn't even let us drive to the hospital, EMS came and picked her up in an ambulance. It was very scary! - and unexpected...I felt like a dumb mother. My poor baby had been that sick the whole night and I didn't listen to my instinct and take her in to the ER. She was getting like NO air.

Loading her up on the gurney in the doctors office...
The checked Addison into Dell Children's and by morning, she was a new person! I guess when they say "push fluids", they mean it, because it boosted her right back. She is doing much better now. I know everyone got wind of this and was a bit concerned. I am so grateful to my ward family for taking care of us! Lance and Nolan even went on got my car (left at the doctors office) and brought it up to me! And Stephi took my kids overnight! Wow, that would have been fun. You guys are the best, I don't know what I would do without you...being a single mom is turning out to be a challenge. Glad it is temporary, but dang this is where I would live if it wasn't!

Happy Numero 7

It's Pinkalicious! Daddy sent a "Pinkalicious" doll all the way from Saks 5th Ave. in Seattle. We skyped when it arrived. She was so excited. Kind of looks like her, don't you think?

This was the funnest party to plan. I love to plan em, it is the actual party that I have a hard time with! So cute though...

Holy Cupcake!

Back to School Day...

Well, you wouldn't know it by our 65th day of 100 degree + temperatures, but its back to school day. I am a little late on the post, everyone went back August 24th. They were all very excited. So its back to PB and J sandwiches and hours of homework, but I am glad glad glad...Addison got glasses and is completely stoked, which is good, because they made me look like ugly Betty. It is strange how genetics work out...Steve has perfect eyes and all our kids ended up with my vision. Poor dumb things. At least there is lasik. What an answered prayer that was.

Back to School Modeling

So, since I was a little girl, I have always loved clothes, earring, and shoes. I can remember looking for clothes in the racks when I wore a 6x. Maybe this is a very "normal" thing, but I like to think that my girls just got it from me. It was such a fun year shopping for back to school clothes. They couldn't wait to come home and try everything on so they could model them. Addison really surprised me with her style this year. She wanted a hat and scarf to match everything!

All Grown UP!

Good bye to the fingers. It has officially been 30 days since Addison has sucked on her much loved fingers. She is 6, and we had some concerns because it only be seeming to get worse. Until I saw this show called "The Monster Inside Me" on Animal Planet. It is a show about parasites. I have always told the kids if they don't wash their hands, they will get a parasite, and if you suck on your fingers, you probably already have one.
It is pretty graphic, but we sat down to watch it anyways. That was the last of the fingers. I know it is for the best, but I have to admit, her sucking on those fingers kept her my baby. Now it is official, I am baby-less in this house.

Kaka

Addison woke up Saturday night with an ear infection. We ran her to the doctor on Sunday afternoon, but it had already ruptured. Not only that, she had a blister on it! In all of Michaela's ear problems, I had never heard of such a thing. Sad day for little Addison. It always freaks you out a little to look at your baby and see blood coming out of her ear. She has been getting some weird sicknesses lately.

Already sick...

Sad day. A week at school and the bacterial infestations are already spreading. Here is a pic of Addison at the docs getting breathing treatments. She had Pnuemonia again. I hope this isn't a start to a sickly year! Poor little dear...

Back to School

Long time, no blog!~ Things have been crazy around here with school starting, hurricane evacs (just barely leaving today!), and Steve's brothers trial. My brain is in spin mode. I thought I would finally post the pics of the first day of school. Addison is finally in Kindergarten and is so excited! She was very independent the first day and didn't really want me taking pictures. What is that? I snuck a few in though...
Back to School Night: Addison found her friend from next door (Vivian) Yay!

On the way to schoolMr Dylan
He so has this under control.
Okay, so by the time we got Addison to class and Dylan, Michaela was late and the class was starting, so she got jipped on picture taking. But the great news is, if you look really close, her "look alike", Anna is in her class again. They are great friends.

A 'Lil Libby

So our sweet friends from Utah were here to visit this Summer (staying the San Antonio). We wanted to take Andelynn to Libby Lu's to have a birthday makeover with the girls. I guess they don't have one of these in Utah. I would love to be the one to open that store there because Dang! I feel very strongly about stores that make your girls feel like beautiful princesses. I needed something like that growing up. Especially in 3rd and 4th grade, boy talk about FRUMPola! Anyways, they had a blast.
