All Grown UP!

Good bye to the fingers. It has officially been 30 days since Addison has sucked on her much loved fingers. She is 6, and we had some concerns because it only be seeming to get worse. Until I saw this show called "The Monster Inside Me" on Animal Planet. It is a show about parasites. I have always told the kids if they don't wash their hands, they will get a parasite, and if you suck on your fingers, you probably already have one.
It is pretty graphic, but we sat down to watch it anyways. That was the last of the fingers. I know it is for the best, but I have to admit, her sucking on those fingers kept her my baby. Now it is official, I am baby-less in this house.

Wowser

This cracked me and Steve up. I would like to post this to honor Michael Jackson and the "legacy" that he has left behind. I love this show. Thanks Hilary for the great laugh. I am so glad to have our cars paid off. Goodness. Do you think Steve would dance like Tina Turner or something if they came and tried to take his Mercedes.? He might!

Daddy Day Care

So my sweet Steve took a week and 1/2 off so that I could recover and relax while he took care of the kids. I think it would be a understatement to say that Steve came up with some "out of the box" ideas to keep them entertained. Things I would never do, let alone think of. They had a shave the balloon contest one day. No one popped there balloons, which that is what we were looking forward to, so they had to come up with plan B on that.

What an awesome Dad, right? Way more fun then me...

A little Princess Nap

We have 5 beds in this house and Steve found it necessary to whole up in this bed. Tender, I must say. Everyone needs a good Princess nap from time to time.

4th of July Ketchup

I know that it is July 21st and I am finally getting some of our pictures up. I don't want to forget some of these moments. We spent the 4th just with our family relaxing and preparing for my upcoming surgery in 2 days. We did get the ladder out and climb the roof to watch fireworks, so not all was dull and boring.

Sunday, the day after the 4th, we went to drop the kids off in San Antonio to spend the week with their Grandparents since I was going to be recovering. It was so nice of them to do that. That is a long time to take all 3 kids. So you would think that we would treat them with the respect that they deserve, but we have to tease them a little, right? Someone snapped (i will not say who) a shot of this photo of Steves mom's "4th of July" bow on the back of her head. Mean.

As if that wasn't enough, Steve put on her glasses and jewels and teased some more. I guess that is what families do. I wonder what they tease me about behind my back.??? Its gotta be something.

Late Birthday Post

I had such a great birthday with my little family and as I was going through my pictures today, I realized that I never posted it. Shame shame. Our friends were out of town over the 4th of July holiday, so no one was here to do anything with. It was just us. We had a great day. We went to see a movie, went to the pool, and we ate at Cheesecake Factory for the very first time.

It was a great day. Thanks Steve and Kiddos for making it a special 32! Jeez, we are getting old.

Vampire Book Series

So I just finished this vampire series by Melissa de La Cruz. I heard that there are a lot of vampire series out there, but this one ended up being pretty good. It was written for a teenage audience, so it was an easy read, but I wouldn't recommend it for teenagers. It is nice to have an entertaining series that doesn't make me think too hard. I recommend it. If you decide to read them, the first one is the slowest, then it picks up. Once again I didn't get any closure when I finished the 3rd book last night. Looks like the 4th comes out in October.

Favorite Dance Show 5

**This got mis posted w/ another copy of dance 4. I can't possibly not change it, since show five really had my favorite dance by Travis.

May be my favorite of the season. It truly brought me out of my hystorectomy coma.

Harry Potter

So, I am not a big fan of Harry Potter. I have tried to read the books and can not get into them. We own all the movies and my kids will watch one occasionally, so I have seen bits and pieces, but don't know the complete story line or character build up. However, we had to get out yesterday. I have been stuffed in my house since surgery almost 2 weeks ago.
I thought the movie was good. It definitely went to credits a little too soon, yet a little too late for me. It was a 3 hour ordeal, which post surgery was too long, but I think it would have been a little long even feeling well. But I still left feeling like I had no closure. I realize there is a couple movies still to come, but I felt very unfulfilled.
All in all, I really liked the romantic comedy that they brought in to this one. I was laughing pretty hard throughout. I think Harry Potter fans will really love it. It did get a PG rating which I think it needed to be PG-13 like the rest of them. There were some scarys - even Dylan was closing his eyes.
