Friendly Fun

So our friends from Houston came to visit this weekend and we thought we would spend some time at the pool - an attempt to tire the kids. I am not so sure that it worked. Maybe it is all the sugar that magically kept disappearing from the pantry.

We enjoyed a picnic of smooshed PB & J sandwiches, of course without removing the protective eyewear. We are all about safety!

Hula Hut

Our family loves Hula Hut. The only thing better than driving on a golf cart to get to your dinner, is driving up on your boat to get to dinner! If only. Anyways, gotta try the shrimp tacos if you have never been. They are divine!

After spending the day at the pool and then heading over to Clayton to meet the kids new teachers, we had worked up an appetite! Here are some pics of the kids while we waited outside to be seated. They even took a couple of Steve and I.

Pool Days

My kids love to go to the pool, but I find it very exhausting! When I was young, I was a little fish. I would head out to the Ogden Country Club and swim all day long. No goggles, floaties, hats, swimshoes, , earplugs, and sometimes not even sunscreen. (bad mommy!) But these kids are HIGH MAINTENANCE! By the time I get all of them dressed in their suits, there is a list of other articles they need to accomplish before entering the water. They are always so excited to get in there, they want to be first to accomplish the task. So we start out with 3 little people all saying "me first, me first!" By the time we are done, I am tired and want to go home.

They did get a little swimming in though last Friday. And they look so fashionable doing it!

National Night Out

So last night was National Night Out and every year Steve's community throws a great party for the residents. Quite the party I tell ya. Steve's rec director bought 400 drinks and they were gone in the first 30 minutes~Taco Del Mar gave a great feast and the kids had a blast. I didn't get many pics of Dylan because he was off doing his own thing. Probably racing the kids on the slide. But the girls and I did it all. Dinner, Face Painting, Bowling, Tricycle Racing, Fire Truck Exploring, just to name a few. Michaela brought her friend from school, Kaitlyn.

Michaela first trip down the slide ended in injury. She somehow snagged her pinky toe and twisted it. Like mother, like daughter. I am the queen of doing this. When we lived in apartments, I did it on a weekly basis. Just not enough room for my feet and the furniture! I would mess it up so bad it would be facing east. If we didn't have toes the length of fingers it might help. Poor thing. She slept with it propped up all night.

So they had bowling in the gym. Looks like it would be easy enough, but no one could get the ball to go straight. Since it was like a beach ball, it kind of just flew all over the place. Addison had a strike her first go around. I get more and more impressed with my childrens talents each day. She was very excited and won a cute little flashlight.

Summer Fun

We decided to go ahead and do a "practice" set up of the water slide before we had the official party at our house. Here are some pics of the kids having fun. Addison got "slide-burn" early on and didn't want to go on it. I would not recommend these slides if you like having a nice lawn. They will destroy it. However, they are much fun and I would suggest it if your kids love being out in the water and you can afford a $300 water bill :).
